Using JQuery selector it is possible to select all the elements with the given tag name. The tag name which we specify within parenthesis, the element selector selects those all elements which are specified with that tag name.
JQuery Selector Syntax
$(“tagname”)
It has parameter called tagname which selects all the elements used by that selector. It refers to tag name of document object model. It contains tag names such as div, id, p etc.

- As shown in the above program, we have used the code inside $(document).ready which is an event which fires up when document is ready. It will run once the page document object model is ready for JavaScript code to execute.
- $(“[id=myval]”).css(“text-shadow”, “5px 5px orange”); line define all the elements which are define with id called myval. It uses CSS text shadow property, which binds shadows to the text.
- When we run the above script, it selects all the elements which are specified with id attribute called myval tag name and attaches shadow text property to the statements.
